Elizabeth Freeman Center seeks a passionate, responsible, and reliable physical response counselor/advocate to support people at the hospitals or police stations in the county after an assault and to provide support during emergency concerns at EFC’s emergency shelter or on hotline. Evening and weekend shifts.
- Provide physical response for sexual assault victims/survivors at Berkshire Medical Center, Berkshire North, and Fairview Hospital
- Provide physical response for domestic or sexual assault victims/survivors at county police stations.
- Provide back-up support to EFC shelter staff for emergency concerns at shelter or on EFC’s hotline.
- Liaise with hospital staff and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) to help ensure clients’ needs are met.
- Connect victims/survivors to EFC services and ongoing support.
- Maintain appropriate and professional boundaries with clients, use good judgment, and adhere to strict guidelines and protocols to ensure client confidentiality and security.
- Complete all other duties to ensure that clients are provided with professional, empathetic, affirming services within the context of the agency’s mission and consistent with grant requirements.
Work Hours: Rotating shifts, evenings and weekends.
Compensation and benefits: This position offers: a stipend for coverage of $460 weekly (Monday – Sunday) with additional increments for holiday coverage; an hourly rate of $24 for physical response and telephone response with additional compensation for major holidays; bilingual capacity, and education, openness to innovation, and the opportunity and resources to do meaningful, impactful work. This is not a benefited position.
