The Property Assistant position is responsible for consistent excellence in facilities care working under the supervision of the Property Director to maintain all the property buildings, systems, grounds, and equipment. This position is an essential employee.
Key areas of responsibilities:
•Responsible for grounds maintenance (lawns, trees, shrubs, snow removal, salt/sanding)
•Be available to respond to emergency situations as required by Property Manager or Chief Operating Officer
•On call schedule - Your position will require you to be “on-call” throughout the year to respond to property issues and for snow removal and may require you to shift your work schedule to accommodate occasional extended hours and some scheduled work days on Saturday or Sunday.
•Assist with freight and food deliveries as necessary
•Change water filters when and where necessary
•Assist with furniture moves as necessary
•Perform duties as directed by Property Manager to include: painting, light carpentry work, light plumbing work, light electrical work, equipment maintenance and repair, and vehicle cleaning
•Ability to operate a chain saw safely
•High school diploma or equivalent
•2 years of experience in the field of facilities/property maintenance
•Must have valid driver’s license
•Mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of wells, water purification, septic systems, sprinkler systems, building heating and AC, power tool usage, and motorized equipment such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers and snow blowers
•Ability to climb ladders and work in high areas
•Basic computer skills
•Must be able to obtain your DOT certification
•No accidents in the last 5 years
