Kitchen Prep Person

Prep Person (Part-Time) Monday – Friday 7:00AM-1:00PM

POSITION DESCRPTION: The Prep Person assists with various duties at the kitchen located in Lanesboro, which prepares nearly 1,000 meals daily for the Meals on Wheels Program. Responsibilities may include food prep, meal packaging, supply receiving and sanitation procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Education or GED preferred. One to two years’ experience in food preparation, preferably in a commercial kitchen. Certification or willingness to obtain certification in sanitation procedures or other areas deemed necessary.

WORK ENVIONMENT:

The position requires frequent physical movements such as standing and walking for extended time periods, including bending, squatting, and twisting to perform work functions. Manual dexterity is required in reaching and grasping of objects with both hands, twisting of hand and wrist, and the pushing and pulling of objects. Objects must be lifted up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis without assistance, and 70 pounds on occasion with assistance if requested. Kitchen cleaning and power tools must be operated in the position as required to fulfill the job responsibilities of the position. The work is primarily performed indoors.
