Company Description: Hillcrest Educational Centers is a private not-for-profit agency that provides a range of individualized and comprehensive clinical, psychological and special education services for children, adolescents and families in Berkshire County, MA and the Northeast. The students served by Hillcrest in nonresidential and residential programs have complex psychiatric, behavioral and/or developmental disorders, including autism, and a variety of high risk behaviors.

Responsibilities include keeping orderly charts, obtain prior authorization as necessary for insurance, medical data collection and documentation for IOP as well as assist with medical appointments and ordering of supplies. Additional duties include any special projects determined by supervisor or Program Manager. Also, assisting the business office in resolving issues with student medical insurance as needed. Contribute to resolution of student medical billing from BMC, other practitioners and pharmacy.
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred
Two years relevant work experience preferred, excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload. Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with multiple departments and outside resources. Intermediate to advanced computer skills are a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Enter data into HEC databases and collects medical data to be presented at IOP meetings.
-Obtain the necessary prior authorizations for insurance coverage of medications or office visits to referral specialists.
-Review of monthly billing from hospital or pharmacy to correct any insurance complications; update insurance depending on eligibility.
-Maintain professional appearance and conduct; work cooperatively with medical departments throughout agency as well as the business office.
-Provide coverage at the front desk and special projects at the request of the Program Manager; appropriately answer the phone and greet any arriving visitors.
