Description:
The Sales Engineer will interface between the US & International Sales team and the Engineering and Technical departments to help prepare sales materials, bid proposals and technical documents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Provide product, service or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests
• Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, designers, and other professional and technical personnel
• Gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements
• Submit orders by conferring with technical support staff; costing engineering changes
• Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new automotive regulations; advising customer on product, service or equipment adherence to requirements; advising customer on needed actions
• Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends
• Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Learn the Lenco product line, technical features, options list and end uses
• Adhere to and carry out existing work practices, procedures and policies
• Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines
• Some travel to 6 - 8 Industry Trade Show; domestic and international
• Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
• Other duties as assigned

INTERACTION WITH:
• Work closely with US and International Sales Managers, Marketing, Contracting, Engineering and Technical Services Departments
• Telephone and email contact with domestic and international Law Enforcement, Military and Government personnel
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum five (5) years in Sales Engineering role
• CAD/CAM design
• Sales or Technical Service experience

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree required

CERTIFICATIONS:
• Valid driver’s license
• Citizenship Requirements (ITAR Export Controls)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks
• Advanced skillset in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent inter-personal skills
• A friendly, courteous and professional manner is a must
• Attention to detail
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and vendors

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Must be able to pass physical exam
• Ability to lift a maximum of 30 lbs.
• Extended periods of sitting
