The Pittsfield Public School District is seeking applicants for a long-term substitute teaching position. The substitute teacher will instruct elementary orchestra students. This is an itinerant teaching position that would require travel between elementary schools.  

Pay is $150 per day for days 1-29. 

Pay is $200 per day for day 30 and beyond.

*Plus mileage for traveling between schools.

Position will run from April through the end of the school year in June.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience teaching string instruments/music
  • Experience working with elementary students preferred
  • Ability to drive oneself to various elementary schools
  • Ability to teach beginner students of varying levels, including students with disabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
