Williamstown Community Preschool Seeking Director
At Williamstown Community Preschool (WCP), we believe in offering a rich, developmentally appropriate learning environment that focuses on child-centered, child-directed activities. We seek to create opportunities for children to experience, explore, and gain an understanding of the world and the people around them.
WCP seeks an experienced early childhood educator to serve as its new Director and carry this mission and educational philosophy into all preschool programs and activities. As school administrator, the Director ensures a professional atmosphere and manages all aspects of school operations. As lead teacher, the Director works with a 12-member teaching staff to create safe, stimulating learning environments where all children can thrive. As primary community liaison, the Director facilitates the development of positive and supportive relationships between and among staff, parents, and children and communicates about WCP to a variety of internal and external audiences. Above all, these roles require the Director to demonstrate vision, expertise, and commitment to helping children in the opening developmental stages. Master’s Degree preferred, Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required. Comprehensive salary and benefits package offered.

-Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. Master’s Degree preferred.
-A minimum one-year experience as Preschool Director preferred but not required.
-Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
-General knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding employment practices.
-Must have completed 15 hours of health and safety training pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866.
-Must have 3 units in each of the following Child Development courses: Child Development Administration, Infant/Toddler, Family Child and Community, Principles of Child Development,Child Development Supervision.
-Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Good organizational skills.
-Self-motivated and flexible.
-Ability to work well under pressure and in face paced work environment with minimal supervision.
-Ability to think promptly and professionally.
-Experience in conflict resolution.
-Hands-on PC compatible computer knowledge, understanding and skill.
-Proficient in MS Window operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, Internet Email and Internet usage; Paypal, Mailchimp and Google Docs; Quickbooks
