Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts invites applications for the position of Director for the Berkshire Cultural Resource Center (BCRC). The Director is responsible for the organization and implementation of creative programming to enhance and promote MCLA as the regional provider of art and arts education to the cultural and creative community both locally and globally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Create, coordinate, and grow cultural programming and connect with the surrounding communities both locally and globally.
•Oversee and implement MCLA Presents! as well as other programming.
•Oversee, implement and contribute to the marketing of the programming for the BCRC, including print and social media.
•Oversee and update as needed the for the BCRC.
•Work closely with academic departments, especially the Fine and Performing Arts Department, and the Arts Management Major, to advance the goals of the BCRC and connect and integrate with the A curriculum.
•Manage budgets and engage in planning for BCRC and its associated programs and activities.
•Collect information and maintain an active database of sales, attendance at events and number of program participants.
•Work in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement to identify and assist in writing grants, obtaining sponsorships and contributions.
•Supervises BCRC Program Manager, BCRC Educational Coordinator, student and part-time employees.
•BA / BS required in a related field from an accredited institution. Master's degree desirable
•Excellent understanding of and experience in Arts Management.
•Must has evidence of entrepreneurial thinking and success.
•Must have prior budget and planning experience in a cultural organization or small business setting.
•Grant writing experience with a proven track record of success in securing grants is
•Highly developed organizational skills.
•Strong interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work with college academic departments as well as the surrounding cultural communities.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•A minimum of three years of administrative experience required. Prior experience in managing staff desirable.
