The SF1 Program develops advanced capabilities for integration into the TRIDENT and COLUMBIA Strategic Weapon Systems for the US Navy Submarine Fleet.   This is a close-knit team using innovative technologies to deliver the best product to the Navy to help protect our country. Our team works closely with the Navy and Industry partners to develop innovate capabilities to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The Agile/SAFe, DevOps, MBSE Product Manager  is the engineering lead on the SF1 program, responsible for overall technical execution, including cost and schedule management of the 30 technical team members largely based in Pittsfield Mass.  If you are looking for an empowered position where you can utilize your skills on an Agile/SAFe, DevOps, MBSE program that will challenge your technical and leadership skills to deliver complex solutions to difficult problems for our warfighters and to augment our national security, this position is for you.

As the Agile/SAFe, DevOps, MBSE Product Manager, you will work closely with the Program manager and customer, and you will be   responsible for the day-to-day direction and leadership for the Engineering team.

What you bring to the table:

  • Agile experience preferred
  • Substantial use, understanding and tailoring of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories
  • Substantial proficiency with requirements management & system modeling tools
  • Ability to recognize various architectural patterns, apply them appropriately, understand strengths/weaknesses within those architectures and develop architectural variations as necessary

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Engineering team during the Agile Program Increment (PI) planning cycles that occurs every 3 months as well as during the execution of each PI
  • Partner with the Program Management team to establish staffing needs, schedules, and budgets.
  • Champion the use of tailored Agile/SAFe, Model Based Systems Engineering and other advanced methodologies to accomplish objectives.
  • Provides technical leadership that results in increased technical quality and reduced technical risk.
  • Support regular customer engagements during contract negotiations, monthly reviews, project task order scope development and execution
  • Define, execute, and control the technical baseline to ensure the contractual goals are achieved (reviewing and approving recommended changes to requirements and design configuration)
  • Ensuring the Engineering teams overall cost, schedule, and performance meets both internal and external customer expectations
  • Interfacing with technical leaders across the set of development programs within the business area
  • Develop and conduct monthly engineering status reviews with engineering leadership
  • Effectively choose the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products
  • Leads medium to large proposals including assessment/integration of cross site/business unit capabilities which may strengthen our offering
  • Cultivates trusted relationships with customer, engineering and business leaders across the organization
  • Facilitates roadmap development aligned with desired strategic outcomes
  • Consistently demonstrates progress through metrics which measure progress towards desired strategic outcomes
  • Remain laser focused on the objective of culture change, consistently confronting anti-pattern behaviors, and modeling desired behaviors that drive culture change

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
