- Maintain and update written safety programs as necessary
- Develop and implement employee training and orientation programs for regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA) in conjunction with Human Resources
- Interpret all statistical injury data and accident reports to identify possible areas for improvement and preventative action
- Perform detailed investigations of existing and potential health, environment and safety hazards and make recommendations for corrective measures
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations; may involve working with off-site agencies and services such as Industrial Hygienists, Government Agencies, Consultants, and Insurance Contacts
- Gather and prepare injury data, accident reports, and environmental data for required government entities
- Schedule, organize and lead site safety committee meetings
- Obtain and keep current all professional certifications to meet regulatory requirements, as needed
- Complete all other projects as assigned
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of two years in an industrial/manufacturing setting with responsibilities related to EHS preferred
- Must possess a working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for EPA, OSHA, and DOT
- Advanced understanding of MS Office and experience with electronic filing
- Must possess good writing and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work cohesively with all departments and all levels of the organization
- Must possess ability to organize, prioritize, and work within deadlines
