Nurse Educator/Trainer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain documentation of all completed trainings by employees and establish an electronic tracking system
- Oversee and ensure specialized training completed by high-risk groups, such as dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, obstetrics/gynecology providers
- Track HealthStream education completed by staff
- Provide monthly In Services using the Annual CHP Calendar.
- Provide ad hoc trainings when needed
- Provide, oversee, and track new hires and yearly clinical competencies
- Coordinate and track basic life support and advanced life support training
- Coordinates new hire departmental orientation, including access to Athena
- Coordinate with Manger of Infection Control and Staff Safety with Respiratory Protection Program as a co-administrator i.e., education, competencies, and annual fitting
- Collaborate and assist as needed with electronic medical record training
- Lead Vaccine Coordinator
- Oversee vaccine program:
- Support clinical staff
- Assess and provide education to insure audit-ready, i.e., Vaccine For Children (VFC), Massachusetts Immunization Information System MIIS site visits.
- Ensure clinical staff are certified upon hire and recertified yearly with vaccine compliance
- Lead Medication Management Coordinator
- Oversee medication management program
- Collaborate with Manager of Infection Control and staff safety to ensure Infection Control measures are met and sustained, to provide staff education on program, upon hire and annually.
- Collaborate with Director of Quality and Patient Safety on patient safety issues, concerns, or training
- Collaborate with Senior Director of Compliance and Risk Management on compliance and privacy issues, concerns, or training
- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and testing with Director of Infrastructure; complete lesson-learned session following each drill or test
- Conduct Code Blue drills and complete lesson-learned sessions following each drill or test.
- Provide regular reporting to Compliance Committee on completion status of mandatory training programs
- Attend educational seminars to broaden knowledge base and maintain licensure

- An RN/ and/or a BSN from an accredited school of nursing are required.
- Current BLS certification.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in an ambulatory setting is preferred. Recent experience in the medical office/outpatient preferred.
- Experience as Clinical Trainer a plus.
- Electronic medical records experience is required. Experience with Athena is a plus.
- Licensed as a RN by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
