Description:
The Literacy Network of South Berkshire (LitNet), a nonprofit organization located in Lee, MA, seeks an Executive Director. For over 28 years, LitNet has been making a difference in the Berkshire community through its steadfast dedication to its mission: Transforming the lives of adult learners, both immigrant and U.S.-born, through the power of literacy, education, and advocacy.

We are currently accepting applications from individuals who are visionary and engaging leaders excelling at balancing multiple tasks including: working with the Board of Directors to fulfill LitNet’s mission; ensuring LitNet’s financial health through fundraising and development; managing and implementing LitNet’s educational programs; managing a small staff and volunteer network of 150 volunteer tutors; encouraging and supporting students; and developing relationships with stakeholders and allied organizations.

With its network of over 150 trained volunteer tutors, LitNet provides free, individualized, one-on-one instruction in reading, high-school equivalency test preparation, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and U.S Citizenship test preparation. LitNet is currently enhancing and expanding its U.S. Citizenship test preparation program by providing improved access to information and online study materials, offering specialized tutor training, and expanding collaborations with other local agencies that serve the immigrant population. The cornerstone of this project is a new scholarship program, designed to defray the cost of the application process, which typically runs more than $700.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a college degree with at least 5 years of Management/Fundraising experience. The position is full-time position, reporting to the Board of Directors, with a minimum annual salary of $55,000, plus benefits.
