The Williams College Department of Theatre seeks a full time Production Manager and Lecturer. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Theatre, the Production Manager will oversee and coordinate all physical and staffing elements for Theatre Department productions and teaching one semester of Introduction to Theatre Technology/Management.
The Department of Theatre presents 4-6 productions per academic year in the Center for Theatre and Dance, a 125,000 square foot, 3 venue performing arts center built in 2007. Theatre Department productions are a part of a vital, eclectic season at the Center for Theatre and Dance, which supports more than 120 events/performances per academic year. Productions are supported by a staff of 5 full time employees, overseen by the Operations Manager; and approximately 20 part time student employees managed by shop supervisors. Occasional over-hire of temporary employees for craft work are hired as needed.
The Production Manager will support the mission of the college to provide a nurturing educational environment. Responsibilities
Working closely with faculty, production staff and students, the Production Manager is responsible for these primary duties:
Responsible for reviewing theatrical designs, scheduling venues, and supervising the Theatre Department Technical Director in the execution of all production elements;
Qualifications
This position is a full-time, 12-month year round, regular exempt appointment with full benefits. We hope to have someone start on or around July 1, 2022.
