Alumni of Williams College are known for their energy, enthusiasm, and their desire to share their purple passion with the world. As Assistant Director for Digital Engagement, you will be responsible for harnessing that energy and channeling it into digital-first communications strategy.

The Assistant Director for Digital Engagement is part of a dynamic Office of Alumni Engagement: a team of creative, empathetic, and committed individuals who are dedicated to keeping alumni connected to each other and the college by uplifting and empowering all members of our diverse community. We are looking for someone with a creative mindset who will thrive while working as part of a highly functioning team.

This role is eligible for up to two days per week remote work from locations in MA, CT, NY, or VT subject to our remote and flexible working policy.

Responsibilities

As Assistant Director for Digital Engagement, you will lead the next evolution of omni-channel alumni-centric communications at scale. Together with your direct report, you will manage digital communications connecting with our alumni population.

Digital engagement and communications should be driven by the college's and alumni community's shared commitment to core values, such as inclusion, caring, and accessibility. Your planning and execution for digital-first communications will need to be informed by the input, insights, and experience of core partners, including campus colleagues, external vendors, and, importantly, alumni volunteers. As Assistant Director for Digital Engagement, you are not only a communicator; you are also a community builder and a keen collaborator and coordinator who makes sure all stakeholders are included, informed, and valued as contributors and content creators.

Qualifications
  • 5 or more years relevant communications and relationship based work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (a Bachelor's is considered the equivalent of 2 yrs experience).
  • Demonstrable expertise in social media required.
  • Experience managing complex projects or processes.
  • Experience shaping engagement strategy using measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to account for the needs and interests of a varied and diverse audience in all aspects of digital communications.
  • Exceptional organizational, oral and written communications skills.
