Store Manager Position in Southern Berkshire County

Pay: $60k base with bonus potential between $10-15k
Hours: ~45 hours/week or more if required, weekend availability is crucial, on-call for store coverage
TEC is assisting in the urgent recruitment of a Store Manager to join a local hardware supplier who has been helping the Berkshires build, repair and create for years. The ideal candidate will have a leadership/management and retail background and should have experience in construction to be able to intelligently speak with customers about materials and projects. This person will also have an outgoing personality with sales skills to match that will help grow the operations of this store.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations including staffing, inventory management, customer service, merchandising, and financial performance that helps maximize sales and minimize expenses
- Hire, train, schedule and develop store employees to create a knowledgeable, customer-focused team and create a positive work environment with this team
- Monitor sales performance, create sales strategies, and drive initiatives to meet or exceed revenue goals
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, place orders with suppliers, and manage receiving and stocking processes
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to maximize product visibility and appeal
- Handle customer issues professionally, resolving concerns quickly to maintain satisfaction and loyalty
- Track store metrics, create reports for leadership, and propose improvements based on analysis
- Enforce health, safety, and security procedures in comp[liance with store and legal standards
- Represent the store in the community, including participation in local events or partnerships when needed.
