Up to One Year

Scope: Cook II & III are midlevel, line cook positions, primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of food for the guests and maintaining kitchen sanitation to Health Department standards. They are supervised by the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chefs and Chef de Parties on duty.
•Prepares and arranges food according to Canyon Ranch’s recipes, nutrition philosophy and quality of presentation.
•Actively contributes to the success of the team through a strong team focus and can do attitude.
•Co-Creates with the team on daily specials with the aim of creating new menu options.
•Respects the quality and nature of our ingredients while ensuring this translates into each dish prepared.
•Exhibits excellence and pride in ones’ work.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
•Actively demonstrates Canyon Ranch Service Standards with staff and guests.
•Stores and handles food properly, following Health Department requirements.
•Owns guest challenges or complaints while informing supervisor.
•Assists in food preparation, Kitchen maintenance and cleaning.
•Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
•Maintains cleanliness and organization of all kitchen equipment, coolers, freezers and utensils.
•Other related duties as directed by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Must have an aptitude for guest service and take pride in Canyon Ranch’s standards of excellence in food preparation and cleanliness.
•Must have a cheerful, positive attitude when working with a variety of people and be able to work well and stay calm in stressful situations.
•Must be neat and clean in appearance.
•Must be able to work productively independently or with supervision.
•Must be able to competently read a recipe, use a scale and convert between different measurements.

$750 sign on BONUS!

Education/Experience/Minimum Requirements:

-Must have one year experience, preferably in production baking
-Must be familiar with process and understanding of working with a large quantity of food
-Must have a cheerful, positive attitude when working with a variety of people and be able to work well under pressure.
-Must be able to work independently or as a team player as assigned
-Must be flexible in working hours. May include evenings, weekends and holidays.
-Must be neat and clean in appearance.

Certification/License: Serve Safe Certification preferred

Experience: Must have at least one year of experience in baking and pastry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Knife skills, bread baking skills, baking methods, measurement knowledge and equipment knowledge.
-Working independently and effectively communicating and being a part of the Canyon Ranch Culinary Team
-Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check, physical and drug screening.
