Company Description: Founded in 1984, the College Internship Program (CIP) is one of the most comprehensive programs in the world for assisting young adults with Asperger’s, High-functioning Autism, ADHD, NLD and other Learning Differences. Our Mission is to inspire independence and expand the foundation on which young adults can build happy and productive lives.
We offer full year and summer programs in Massachusetts, Florida, Indiana, California and New York. We have a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on helping post-secondary students succeed in college, employment, and independent living while making the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. The CIP program focuses on real-life skills in areas such as social thinking, executive functioning, sensory processing and wellness.
Our Berkshire Center location is looking for a full-time Admission’s Coordinator to oversee Admissions. Working closely with our National Office, the Admissions Coordinator will interview potential incoming students, give tours to professionals in the field, handle outreach activities and represent CIP at national conferences.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
-Help attract, assess, enroll, and retain qualified students in order to maintain the College Internship Program’s desired school enrollment.
-Maintain records of all admissions information on computer in order to design a comprehensive organizational model for the development of the department.
-Market the College Internship Program in a manner which reflects the philosophy and genuine service orientation of the program.
-Assist in communication with families from the inquiry stage through the application and assessment process to registration via telephone, letter, email, and fax transmission.
-Conduct interviews, tours, and assessment of prospective candidates, assuring the involvement of all appropriate staff.
-Make presentations to various parent groups, student bodies, professional associations and human resources professionals.
-Travel to conferences, school fairs, consultants visits and attend training workshops.
-Design and implement special admissions functions on campus, e.g., Open Houses, group visits and special recruitment activities.
-Conducting market research in an effort to increase the volume of inquiries, the annual mailing list and ultimately the number of qualified applicants.
-Assist with program brochures and materials to be utilized in the Admissions process.
-Maintain up-to-date databases for the following: relevant contacts, IECA consultants, newsletter recipients, LD Programs.com website, and LDA mailing list.
-Review incoming application packets and respond accordingly.
-Develop a comprehensive plan with strategies for maintaining enrollment with students who meet the College Internship Program student profile.
Education, Skills and Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in related field
-At least two years related experience and/or training
-Experience with outreach activities at the higher education level desired
-Experience in Marketing and or Sale helpful
-Experience in the field of autism and/or learning disabilities preferred
-Excellent collaboration, communication, problem-solving, planning, prioritizing, influencing, and organizational skills
-Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi-task
-Present a professional appearance and manner
-Ability to stay organized, focused and manage time
-Proficient with computer software for office skills and in learning new company computer software programs
-Some nights and weekend hours are required
-15% +/- in state travel and some out of state travel is required for this position
