Description:
MCLA is accepting applications for a Coordinator of Conferences and Campus Events. The Coordinator of Conferences and Campus Events is responsible for developing and managing a plan to promote MCLA facilities usage to external groups for conferences and other special purpose events. The plan will address the goal of generating revenue through the use of College space by the public. In addition, the Coordinator will assist in building relationships with corporations and businesses to help drive a sustained income stream of sponsorships for current and future College events. This position also organizes and executes campus events (with the exception of Commencement and MCLA Lecture Series).

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Responsible for the development and execution of a plan for external conferences/events at MCLA, including the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan aimed at enhancing the College's conference/event business. There is special focus on summer campus space usage revenue.
* Responsible for the development and execution of a plan for most internal campus events.
* Develop and execute an annual plan for a corporate sponsorship program in support of campus events including setting annual revenue goals; creating a menu of sponsorship opportunities; building relationships with potential sponsors and soliciting sponsorships.
* Coordinate communication with campus departments that provide support to programs and events, including catering, facilities, information technology, and campus police.
* Negotiate contracts, reserve appropriate facilities and arrange for all event logistics support.
* When necessary prepares invitations, programs, and collateral brochures in support of campus events.
* Serve as the contact and clearinghouse for all external organization/individuals seeking to use or rent college facilities for events, providing proposals and campus tours as required.
* Provide assistance as necessary to the President's office with execution of Commencement and MCLA Lecture series.
* Serve on various institutional committees as needed.
Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree required with minimum three years, preferably five years' experience working in events management, preferably in Higher Education.
* Clear understanding and appreciation for the mission of a public four-year Liberal Arts College.
* Experience in marketing to businesses, community organizations and individuals.
* Excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively with various internal and external constituents.
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and knowledge of database systems preferably Raiser's Edge or similar donor database system.
* Demonstrated project management and negotiation skills with volunteers, business representatives and staff.
* Ability to develop rapport with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff administration and the general public.
* Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
* Dealing with confidential matters and multiple constituents, particularly high-profile individuals.
* High flexibility and tolerance for/ability to adapt to change.
* Ability to work weekend and evening events in support of events and conference coordination.
* Ability to articulate College priorities and policy.
* Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, benefited position within the APA Bargaining Unit. The salary range for this position is $47,000 to $52,000 per year. Deadline for Applications has been extended to March 31st, 2019.
