The Berkshire Family YMCA will be running a summer camp at the Bennington Recreation Center for school-age students in 1 through 6th grade. Counselors will provide fun and engaging activities that include swimming, sports, arts and crafts, literacy, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Candidates must be available Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week from June 24-Aug. 30th.

Major Duties:
-Plan and implement activities, supervise and coordinate sports games, art and other activities.
-Act as both a supervisor and role model for the students in the program.
-Develop and maintain an atmosphere of consistency and fairness in which both children and staff cooperate.
-Attend staff meetings and trainings
-Discuss behavior problems and situations with supervisor.
-Resolve conflict within your group while seeking assistance from other staff or supervisors when necessary.

Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong background, or serious interest, in the field of school age education and a true desire to act as a mentor to children. Must be an effective communicator with children and adults, as well as demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, good judgment, and professionalism in all situations. All applicants must be CORI checked before being hired.

Qualified applicants must have prior experience working with school age children.
• Must be available Monday through Friday. Candidates must be available Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week from June 24- August 30th.
