Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration of the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments program.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD regulations, policies, notices, and applicable program requirements.
  • Oversee tenant certifications, recertifications, income and asset verifications, and rent calculations, inspections.
  • Review and maintain accurate tenant and program records.
  • Coordinate with property owners, residents, contractors, and other housing partners.
  • Monitor program files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Prepare for and respond to HUD reviews, audits, inspections, and monitoring activities.
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of required reports and submissions.
  • Address resident questions, concerns, and eligibility issues professionally and promptly.
  • Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive resident and program information.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Must obtain Housing Quality Standards (HQS) certification/qualification within one (1) year of employment.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to interpret federal regulations and apply them accurately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and housing-management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience with tenant eligibility, annual/interim recertifications, rent calculations, and compliance documentation preferred.
