The Hyperbaric Technician performs duties under supervision of the Program Director, Clinical Coordinator, and Medical Director as is appropriate. They are responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems as well as the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.
•POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
•At least two years’ experience in a busy physician's office or outpatient setting preferred.
•Direct care experience, taking vital signs, lifting patients and expediting care is preferred.
•Hyperbaric medicine experience is preferred. The Wound Center will train candidate as needed.
B.Education and Training:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
•Must meet eligibility requirements to sit for UHMS HBOT Certification, such as: Corpsman (Military), Medical Services Specialist, EMT-Basic or Paramedic, Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA), Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT), Physical Therapy Assistant.
C.License, Certification & Registration:
•UHMS HBOT - Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society Certification within 6 months of hire required.
