Town of Florida is looking to fill the position of a full-time Highway Maintenance worker under the direction of the Highway Supervisor. Work will include but not be limited to mowing, plowing, building maintenance, road maintenance and whatever is deemed necessary to help keep the department running smoothly. Must be able to respond to work within a reasonable time. Must have a valid MA driver’s license and preferred CDL License and Hoisting License, or 1 year allowed to be fully licensed. Work is performed in a garage, yard, and varied field locations; at times noise levels may be loud; work is performed inside and out-of-doors in all weather conditions; work is performed during normal working hours, and as required, during storms and other special or emergency conditions. Requires the driving and operation of light and heavy trucks and equipment including but not limited to pay loaders, backhoes, grader, snowplows, tractors, lawn equipment, compactor, and other equipment; also requires the operation of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and a jackhammer; occasionally uses a ladder and office equipment, telephone, copier and computer. Has contact with the highway department directly, by telephone or two-way radio; most contacts are with fellow employees in the department or town government and contractors with construction trade skills. Salary will be based on experience and various licenses held. Maybe negotiated.

Must pass CORI and DOT Drug test.
