<p>General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Systems Model Development Lead.&nbsp; This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation&rsquo;s core defense/intelligence services and systems.&nbsp; General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Customization of "out of the box" modeling tool/environment (e.g. script development) to meet the needs of the systems engineering organization<br />Development and institutionalization of modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency across the systems engineering organization.<br />Model integration (e.g. System Of System model integration) strategies and infrastructure implementation<br />Development and institutionalization of model configuration management process and infrastructure<br />Development of model component reuse libraries<br />Leading modeling and simulation activities<br />Performing requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system, subsystem or system elements with minimal supervision<br />Performing technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements<br />Performing customer requirements analysis, developing system requirements and defining allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components)<br />Supporting the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle<br />Researching, designing, and developing systems, in conjunction with software and hardware product development, applying principles and techniques of systems engineering, modeling and simulation and analysis<br />Providing leadership and/or direction to lower level employees<br />Guiding the successful modeling activities of major programs and projects<br />Defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility<br />Designing complete and complex frameworks, systems, or products<br />Determining methods and procedures for new assignments, may coordinate activities of other personnel<br />Frequent contact with project teams across the company<br />Frequent contact with external customers and vendors<br />Keeping abreast of technology trends<br />Providing resolution to a diverse range of complex problems<br /><br />&nbsp;<br /><br />KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:<br /><br />&nbsp;<br /><br />Significant experience using Magic Draw and associated tools<br />Ability to work across a large engineering organization driving modeling application, standards, and consistent quality<br />Ability to engage and influence modeling application infrastructure strategies across a multi-contractor integrated team (modeling applied to a System of Systems)<br />Ability to develop and deliver modeling training to in-house personnel<br />Possess advanced decision-making skills<br />Ability to work without appreciable direction<br />Strong use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories<br />Strong knowledge of other related disciplines<br />Strong proficiency with requirements management &amp; system modeling tools<br />Strong written and verbal communications skills<br />Ability to get buy-in on concepts and ideas<br />Creative, innovative thinker</p>
Requirements:
<p>Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience)&nbsp;plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.&nbsp; Significant experience with Magic Draw required, Agile experience preferred.<br /><br />CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:<br />Department of Defense&nbsp;Top Secret&nbsp;security clearance is required within 12 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.</p>
