The opportunity we can offer is one-of-a-kind.<br /><br />We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.<br /><br />Working with Engineering, Operations Support and individuals in other departments, the Advanced Engineering Technician will support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:<br /><br />Key Responsibilities<br /><br />Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned:<br />Performs a variety of operations to assemble precision electromechanical products<br />Performs tasks such as drilling, reaming, burnishing, and tapping; uses precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specified tolerances; disassembles precision assemblies and corrects malfunctions<br />Open to new ideas and can serve as a champion for change and acts to support change when directed from management<br />Performs a variety of equipment/process operations involving an application or technical skills in specific area (electrical, testing, manufacturing, etc.)<br />Works from schematics diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform build, test, and troubleshooting functions<br />Utilizes a variety of systems to perform manufacturing functions<br />Works with associates in other departments and understands cross-functional relationships<br />Analyzes results and implements procedures for problem solving<br />Measures work piece with instruments such as electronic gauges and optical light, compares work piece dimensions with specifications to ascertain amount of stock to be removed and evaluates types of compounds, diamonds, and laps or material needed to achieve required specifications and set-up requirements<br />Prepares and conditions surface of lap to achieve proper geometric form and tolerance per print and/or sketch requirements<br />Applies compound to work piece and rubs lap across work piece with rotary or reciprocating motion, feeling friction and applying required pressure based on previous experience to attain specified tolerances<br />Perform complex measurements to verify conformance to specifications<br />Verifies, by initials, conformance of work piece to process specifications requirements<br />Manually handles parts where care is required to prevent surface defects such as nicks and scratches<br />Maintains equipment and immediate work area in clean and orderly condition<br />Design and draw sketches for tooling and laps to complete task required<br />Promote continuous product improvement by conceptualizing and implementing new procedures, processes or fixtures<br />Ability to work under a scope for long periods of time at 40x magnification<br /><br />Qualifications (Preferred)<br /><br />Attributes for a successful candidate include:<br /><br />Ability to read blueprints, sketches and drawings<br />Adaptive to new training opportunities and demonstrates competence in site-specific skill sets<br />Good analytical and problem solving skills<br />Having a background in watchmaking considered a strong asset<br />This position requires manual dexterity, good eyesight, as well as a great deal of concentration and patience<br />Working knowledge of the theory, design characteristics, operation, and function of accelerometers and gyroscopes<br />Experience working in an ISO/clean room/instrument or medical device manufacturing environment.<br />High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail a must<br />Having a background in watchmaking considered a strong asset<br />Previous experience in miniature precision devices is desirable<br /><br />What you’ll experience:<br />Technologies that aren’t just top-notch, they’re often top-secret<br />A team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what’s next<br />Opportunities to gain new knowledge - as it’s discovered<br />What you bring to the table:<br />An Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience<br />Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools<br />Ability to fabricate complex hardware<br />Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory<br /><br />What sets you apart:<br />Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success<br />Commitment to ongoing professional development<br />Superior communication and collaboration skills</p>|
|<p>Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.<br /><br />CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:<br /><br />Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.</p>|
