Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred, or a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years’ experience working with elders and/or telephone information and referral is required. Candidates for the position who have demonstrated abilities in human services but who cannot meet these criteria may apply for a waiver. Other Knowledge/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills Strong assessment, communication and counseling skills Commitment to working with the elderly and disabled adults; strong sensitivity to aging and disability issues Ability to work successfully over the phone Crisis intervention/problem-solving skills Familiarity with community resources Ablility to work well with community agencies and individuals in a professional manner Leadership ability; independent thinker; self starter Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using databases Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week |
