GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assist senior team members with installing, maintaining, reviewing and modifying the College's data network and telecommunications systems.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Assistant Director of Network Engineering
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the network and systems team with the Installation and Maintenance of the College's data network.
- Provide assistance to the Desktop Support team as needed.
- Provide support for Teams telephone systems and end-points, cellular devices, and mobile device management systems.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues related to the security camera and electronic door access systems.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the institution and system manufacturers/vendors, ensuring timely communication, troubleshooting, and coordination for maintenance, repairs, and system updates.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for cellular telephone distribution.
- Update and maintain documentation for any system changes performed as well as E911 reporting.
- Participate as team member in evaluation of current and future hardware and software needs.
- Interact professionally with all College departments and outside vendors.
- May serve in the on-call duty rotation by responding to weekend emergencies in accordance with the department's emergency response procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or four (4) years relevant experience.
- Experience in installing and supporting complex, technological systems.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
- Experience with client/server systems on Windows and Linux/UNIX/Mac OS.
- Experience working as part of an information technology team.
- Ability to collaborate with individuals across the college.
- The position works on, or has the potential to work on, the Criminal Justice Information Services system and is subject to periodic criminal background checks and fingerprinting.
Additional Information:
This is a full time, benefitted position within the APA Union. Salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000 per year.
