Description:

The Campus Safety Officer provides safety services to the campus, ensuring the security of the MHS property and maintaining a safe educational environment for all community members and guests. With an emphasis on customer service and strengthening community relations to further the mission of the School, Campus Safety Officers are committed to serving a diverse school community and are tasked with identifying, assessing, and responding to potential hazards and safety-related incidents at the School. Campus Safety Officers should expect to work a shift schedule that could include days, evenings and/or overnights, along with weekends and holidays. Responsibilities

  • Conducts patrols of school properties and inspects all access points, buildings, doors, and windows to secure the campus and prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Receives, screens, and responds to incoming calls, and notifies key personnel of major incidents or emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Notify appropriate personnel promptly in the event of major incidents or emergencies and use the REACH system to distribute emergency notifications to the school community as needed.
  • Assists in enforcing the safety rules, regulations, and policies of Miss Hall’s School.
  • Greets, screens, and assists visitors and guests, emphasizing professional and courteous assistance and strong customer service.
Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in a technology-rich environment with strong computer skills, including preparing reports and using the web-based Emergency Notification System.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain valid certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid (American Heart Association preferred).
  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • High ethical standards, strong boundaries, and sensitivity to the needs of an adolescent, all-girls population.
