The Senior Nursing Director has operational and functional responsibility for medical and surgical care units, special projects and initiatives for these areas. The Senior Nursing Director assists the Vice President of Nursing/CNO in executive-level management of resources, strategic planning and development of policies and procedures which ensure nursing practice meets professional standards. The senior nursing director is also responsible for providing direction and coordination of the personnel involved in the provision of nursing services within these departments. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team for the implementation of policies, procedures, standards and regulations for the departments to facilitate optimal nursing care. Assumes 24-hour responsibility, authority and accountability for patient care activities and service operations.

• Experience:
  • Five years full time nursing experience in a supervisory, administrative and consultative managerial capacity.
• Education and Training:
  • Master’s degree in nursing.
• License, Certification & Registration:
  • RN - Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• Other Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing practices.
