Description:

Local nonprofit seeking a Finance Manager to support the organization’s financial operations during a period of significant growth. This role will oversee core financial functions including budgeting, financial reporting, grant tracking, and operational financial management supporting our housing development and community programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and monitoring of the organizational budget
  • Prepare internal financial reports and monitor financial performance
  • Track grant budgets and prepare required financial reports for funders
  • Support financial statement preparation and month-end processes
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and financial compliance
  • Oversee financial tracking
  • Provide financial oversight for our affiliate associations, including budgets, financial reporting, and financial coordination
  • Maintain strong financial documentation and internal controls

Core Technical Skills

  • Financial statement preparation and general ledger management
  • Budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Grant financial tracking and reporting
  • Month-end financial close processes
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience

Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to communicate financial information clearly, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Requirements:

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Required Experience

  • 5–8 years of professional experience in accounting, financial management, or nonprofit finance
  • Experience with budget development, financial reporting, and financial systems
  • Experience managing or supporting complex financial operations such as grants, housing development, loans, or multi-project budgets strongly preferred
  • Nonprofit financial management experience preferred
