The Town of Adams is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of the Assistant Treasurer/Collector position in the Office of the Treasurer/Collector. This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week position with an hourly rate of $22.97-29.35, commensurate with experience, and benefits including paid time-off, state/federal holidays, pension, health, life, and dental insurance. A deferred compensation plan is also available. The Assistant Treasurer/Collector performs a full range of administrative and secretarial functions in direct support of the Treasurer/Collector. This person must be organized, have the ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and interact frequently with the public to field inquiries and resolve department related issues. Attention to detail and accuracy is vital. The position will support the Treasurer/Collector in managing daily financial operations, including cash flow, banking activities, and the collection and processing of payments such as taxes and fees. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Prepare and reconcile financial reports, support billing and collections, and monitor accounts for accuracy. Provide professional customer service by responding to inquiries from the public and internal departments, while safeguarding confidential financial information. Support audits, budgeting processes, and administrative functions, and collaborate with staff to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
