Description:

Berkshire Family & Individual Resources, Inc. (BFAIR) is seeking a Occupational Therapist Consultant to work 6 hours per week in  our North County Day Habilitation Centers serving adults with developmental disabilities.


Occupational Therapist – Day Habilitation Program (Consultant/Contract Position)

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides individualized therapeutic services to participants in a Day Habilitation Program in accordance with MassHealth regulations. This is a contracted consultant position; the selected candidate will not be an employee of BFAIR.

The OT evaluates participants’ functional abilities and develops, implements, and monitors Day Habilitation Plans(DHSP) that support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of daily living skills, independence, and community integration.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, identifying therapeutic goals, and delivering interventions focused on fine motor skills, sensory integration, adaptive equipment use, and activities of daily living (ADLs). The OT collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure services are integrated into each participant’s Individual Service Plan (ISP) and comply with all documentation and regulatory requirements.

The OT also provides staff training and guidance to support carryover of therapeutic strategies, ensures accurate and timely documentation, and participates in program planning and quality assurance activities as required by MassHealth.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Minimum of one year of related experience
  • Knowledge of MassHealth regulations for Day Habilitation services preferred
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Must carry professional liability insurance
