Description: | Richmond Consolidated School is looking for a classroom paraprofessional. This community-minded school highly values teamwork. This position starts on August 26, 2026. This position works under the supervision of classroom teachers. The paraprofessional will provide service to the students, supervise during recess and lunch, and assist in other areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional support to students across grades Pre-K through 8, ensuring that learning activities are engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
- Provide individualized or small group support to students, helping to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs in alignment with individualized education plans (IEPs) and classroom goals.
- Support students with special needs, ensuring they are included in all classroom activities and feel part of the learning community.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and collaboration, encouraging a love for lifelong learning.
- Assist in implementing classroom management strategies, maintaining a positive, supportive, and respectful environment where all students feel a sense of belonging.
- Implement positive discipline strategies and conflict-resolution techniques that emphasize fairness, empathy, and a culture of care.
- Supervise students during class, transitions, and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials, ensuring they are clean, safe, and ready for use.
- Communicate effectively with teachers to ensure that student needs are met and appropriate instructional strategies are used.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to support continuous growth and collaboration.
- Help maintain positive relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem and encouraging positive behavior.
- Assist with student assessments, data collection, and progress monitoring to support student success.
- Participate in meetings with teachers, administrators, and families to discuss student progress, behaviors, and needs, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school community.
- Foster a sense of belonging in students, making sure they feel respected and valued in every classroom activity.
- Assist in implementing health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe and well-maintained classroom environment.
- Support Pre-K students with toileting needs, ensuring dignity, comfort, and independence while fostering a respectful, supportive environment.

| Requirements: | Qualifications & Skills: Required: - High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree or higher preferred).
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families in a supportive, inclusive, and respectful manner.
- Understanding of child development and best practices in supporting students with diverse academic and social-emotional needs.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, that foster a culture of respect and belonging.
- Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
