Description: | Position Summary: Interstate Truck Drivers procure food from vendors and deliver food orders packed in bags and totes on a regular weekly route. All routes originate from Williamstown, MA warehouse, procurement routes travel up to Vermont then return each day, and delivery routes travel to drop-off sites in the Boston, MA area and return each day. Drivers are representatives of Farmers to You, interacting with vendors and customers, ensuring that fresh and healthy food is procured and delivered to customers in good condition and on time. Drivers also transfer products to home delivery drivers/vehicles at designated transfer locations and are responsible for setting up and operating sites where customers pick up weekly orders. This role requires a driver’s license, a clean driving record, the ability to operate a truck per Federal Department of Transportation (FDOT) regulations, follow directions, frequently lift up to 50 lbs., attention to detail while working quickly, and ability to communicate clearly. Knowledge of produce and food products is a plus. Essential Functions: - Follow directions of the Driver Coordinator
- Pickup and drop off truck in designated Williamstown location
- Assist in loading and preparing truck for travel and unloading and preparing truck for drop off
- Ensure items in vehicle are secured appropriately prior to travel
- Pre-trip truck inspection and timely reporting of any maintenance issues or needs
- Drive truck back and forth between Williamstown, VT vendor locations, and designated locations in the Boston, MA region (approximately 4 stops)
- Organize and transfer products, totes and bags from truck to local delivery vehicle for home deliveries
- Unload products, totes and bags at designated customer pick-up sites
- Set up, operate, and break down customer pick-up locations in partnership with location-based site hosts
- Act as representative of Farmers To You, display interest in the products carried, provide exceptional customer service, answer questions, and follow-up with other customer service staff as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Work with others using clear communication
- Participate in weekly driver team meetings
- Participate as a member of the Packing Team (see Pick Crew Member position description for details)
- Collect invoices or bill of lading from vendors and deliver to the Operations Lead at Williamstown
- Other duties as assigned

| Requirements: | Required Skills, Education and Experience: - High school diploma/GED
- Possession of or ability to obtain DOT medical card (costs will be reimbursed)
- Ability to safely operate under-CDL straight truck for up to 16 hour duration in clear and inclement weather
- Clean driving record
- Compliance with local traffic laws and FDOT regulations at all times
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and twist, reach, bend down and squat
- Ability to stand and move around at warehouse location, transfer sites and customer pick-up sites
- Ability to understand and willingness to follow specific instructions
- Attention to detail and ability to read and fulfill customer orders and notate issues and changes clearly
- Ability to communicate with others and follow-up with others for additional assistance
Preferred Skills and Experience - 2 years of truck driving experience
- Previous experience working with produce vendors or farms
- Previous experience working in customer service role
Work Environment: - Driving in clear and inclement weather conditions
- Outdoor drop-off/transfer locations and indoor warehouse environments
- Exposure to varying temperatures indoors and outdoors depending on weather conditions
Work Hours: - Driving hours: Typical 10 hour shifts (up to 16 hours depending on needs of business)
- Shifts start at 7am
- Monday-Thursday
