Description: | Position Overview CT Management Group is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting and financial recordkeeping for our residential property management business in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a small business environment. Schedule and Employment Details Position: Part-Time Bookkeeper Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week; exact schedule is flexible within daytime hours (for example, a 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. style shift, adjusted as mutually agreed). Work location: On-site in Pittsfield, Massachusetts Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate daily financial records for multiple properties, including rent receipts, owner draws, and operating expenses. Process accounts payable: review, code, and enter vendor invoices; schedule payments; and maintain organized documentation. Process accounts receivable: record tenant payments, track outstanding balances, and assist with delinquency follow-up when needed. Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations and ensure transactions are properly classified in the general ledger. Assist with payroll-related data (hours, classifications, etc.) for maintenance personnel and other staff in coordination with management and external payroll providers. Prepare simple monthly reports (e.g., income/expense summaries, property-level statements) for owners and management. Support annual tax preparation and periodic audit requests by maintaining organized digital and physical files. Maintain orderly filing systems for leases, vendor contracts, W-9s, and other financial documents. Communicate professionally with owners, tenants, vendors, and the management team regarding billing or account questions.

| Requirements: | Required Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping or small business accounting experience, preferably in property management, real estate, or a related field. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar), Microsoft Excel, and basic office applications. Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and basic financial statements. High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple properties and accounts. Dependable, with the ability to work a consistent part-time schedule and some flexibility in exact hours. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
