Our District is comprised of three schools: Lanesborough Elementary (PreK-6), Williamstown Elementary (PreK-6) and Mount Greylock Regional School (7-12). Description:

Mount Greylock Regional School District is seeking substitute teachers and paraprofessionals for the remainder of the 2026–2027 academic year. Substitute staff are essential in ensuring the continuity of instruction and student support in the absence of the regular teacher or paraprofessional. Assignments and durations will vary and are offered on an as-needed basis.

At this time, the District is welcoming applications from candidates who are interested in filling at at any or all of our schools:  Lanesborough Elementary School (Grades PreK–6), Williamstown Elementary School (Grades PreK–6), and Mount Greylock Regional School (Grades 7-12). 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow lesson plans and daily routines as provided by the teacher of record.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support student learning and engagement in alignment with school and district expectations.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned, such as recess/lunch supervision, arrival/dismissal assistance, or one-to-one student support.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree preferred; a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working with children preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different grade levels and classroom settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation is based on a daily rate commensurate with education level and may be paid at a full day increment or prorated to a half day depending on mutual agreement and as needed by the assignment.  A susbstitute teacher/para who does not posess a college degree should expecte to be compensated at $120 per day.  An individual with a college degree should expect to be compensated at the rate of $180 per day.  Individuals who are certified and/or retired Massachusetts educators should expect to be compensated at the rate of $210 per day.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings:

  • National Fingerprint-Based Criminal Background Check (NCBC)
  • Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)
  • Sexual Offender Record Information (SORI)

All screenings must be completed prior to the start of employment.
