Director of Campus Safety Applications Accepted Starting 8/24/26 Application Review Starting 9/7/26 The Director of Campus Safety provides strategic and operational leadership for the safety, security, and overall well-being of the Miss Hall’s School community, an independent boarding school serving approximately 180 students in a year-round, 24/7 residential campus environment. This position develops and implements effective strategies to promote the safety and security of the Miss Hall’s School community. Guided by expertise in campus safety management and possessing strong communication skills, the Director facilitates internal and external partnerships to provide leadership in emergency preparedness, incident response, and safety planning. Responsibilities: - Provide vision, direction, and daily leadership to the Department of Campus Safety, which includes full and part-time officers.
- Foster officer development through feedback, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee departmental administrative functions, including budgeting, work scheduling, and fleet management (maintenance and usage).
- Maintain, update, and implement all campus protocols for safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
- Design and deliver safety/emergency training and coordinate drills for the department and community as required by law or plan protocols.
- Serve on-call, 24/7, as the primary emergency escalation contact.
- Serve as a liaison to local city authorities, public safety officials, and external community stakeholders.
- Collaborate actively with the Student Life Team and Residential Life team to ensure well-being and a positive experience for all students

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - At least 7 years of experience in safety, experience in a student-focused or residential setting preferred
- Associate’s degree required, bachelors preferred with relevant experience in campus safety, public safety, emergency services, or policy drafting.
- Knowledge of state/federal security regulations, safety field trends, and municipal protocols.
- High degree of integrity, discretion, and ethical standards, with strict adherence to confidentiality.
- Strong collaborative approach, with the ability to build trust, respect, and confidence across a diverse campus community.
- Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills for training delivery and clear community communication.
- Ability to remain composed, exercise critical thinking, and make decisive, informed judgments during high-stress emergency situations.
