Description:

This staff member will provide coordination of housing and intakes for the supportive housing program and across programs. This staff would have a role as supervisor and as with all our jobs, have direct time with people coming for assistance with housing and often in emergency situations. This staff person would operate as part of a program team and as part of a management team with oversight to ensure a safe productive program that is beneficial and very important to the community.

Many of the people we work with have experienced substance addiction, mental health issues and homelessness. This staff person needs to have an understanding of younger adults ages 18-25 and their specific needs, as well as being comfortable with elders and people of all ages, genders (including non gender), races, religions, and economic levels (especially low-income). Louison House, Inc. is a nonprofit agency, well known in the community and serving people struggling with homelessness or housing instability in Northern Berkshire and beyond.

The job location will be North Adams with travel in Northern Berkshire and to Pittsfield at times. We are looking for someone who is very organized, has strong program coordination skills and strong supervisory skills. This staff person needs to understand working in a small social service agency and have lots of direct service experience. We require someone with knowledge of Northern Berkshire and the Berkshires in general, the ability to collaborate and work well with other agencies, businesses, police, and town/city personnel .

This job requires previous experience in human services, a valid driver’s license and vehicle, strong math and computer skills, high knowledge for the Berkshire social services, comfort with people with addiction and mental health issues, and be a very dependable person. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast paced environment as a team player that can problem solve quickly with the clients, while paying attention to details and needs of the client.

People Skills needed: good communication skills, empathy for people in difficult or crisis situations, non-judgmental, and problem solving skills.

Computer skills needed: Word, Excel, and the knowledge of or the ability to learn data entry for a housing data system.

Summary

As a Project Coordinator/Case manager supervisor, you will be instrumental in supporting staff and in ensuring that individuals have caring crisis intervention and support in moving forward towards obtaining housing. Your role involves coordinating staff and services related to housing, behavioral health and addiction counseling. You will utilize your people skills, communication skills and proficiency to maintain accurate records and facilitate effective case management. Your experience in Trauma informed Care, and supervising will enhance your teams ability to support clients and navigate complex situations. Requirements:

The applicant needs good communication skills, the ability to work in word, excel and data system.  They have to be organized, able to work with a staff team and to be self motivated.  This person needs 3 years or more human service/Social work experience working directly with people.  

They need a driver license for at least 3 years with a clean/good driver record.  They will have access to agency vehicle, but have a car to meet with people if the staff vehicle is not available.
