Description:

POSITION: Multilingual Learner (MLL) Tutor

SCHEDULE: 45 minutes per day

LOCATION: Remote or In-Person (To Be Determined) — working with a student attending school outside the district in Pittsfield, MA.

COMPENSATION: An hourly rate will be determined commensurate with the successful applican'ts education, experience and licensure status.

Position Statement

The Mount Greylock Regional School District is seeking an MLL Tutor to provide targeted academic English instruction for an out-of-district student. We seek a strength-based educator who celebrates the assets MLL students bring to the community and honors diverse student backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s preferred).

  • Massachusetts DESE License in English as a Second Language (ESL) and SEI Teacher Endorsement required.

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Commitment to current content knowledge and instructional strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 45 minutes of daily English language instruction aligned with DESE PK–6 benchmarks and WIDA ELD standards.

  • Assess academic English development using culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate tools.

  • Develop tailored learning materials suited to the student’s maturity and skill level.

  • Maintain regular communication regarding student progress with teachers, administration, and parents/guardians.

  • Keep accurate records of activities for district and state audit compliance.

Requirements

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of SAFIS CHRI (fingerprint-based) and CORI background checks per MGL Chapter 459 of the Acts of 2012.
