Opening Details

The Williams College Registrar's Office seeks a highly organized and service-oriented individual for the position of Classroom Coordinator. In this role you will become an integral member of the office and get broad exposure to academic operations at the College.

This role is eligible for one day per week remote work from locations in MA, CT, NY, or VT; subject to our remote and flexible working policy.

Responsibilities

The Registrar's Office reports to the Dean of the College and is responsible for upholding the academic policies of the college, maintaining accuracy of student records, and compliance to state and federal laws, as well as accreditation requirements. The department consists of seven staff members working collaboratively to provide the best service to our constituents. The Classroom Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Associate Registrar for Operations.

The Classroom Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the curriculum and registration at the College. You will be responsible for the management of classroom assignments for each semester, including final exams, and will serve as the Course Information Liaison for the academic departments in Divisions I & II. You will assist in the development of the final exam schedule and the administration of self-scheduled and take-home exams. Additionally, you will be a critical part of the team that assists students and faculty with registration matters, greets visitors to the office, responds to questions, and maintains student records.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be friendly, independent, unflappable, tech-savvy, possess a collaborative spirit, and have a keen attention for detail. They will also be able to analyze and interpret individual needs, manage competing priorities, and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated interest in working with college faculty, staff, and students, or directly similar populations through prior experience or education
  • Excellent customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
  • Ability to be resourceful, independent, and exceptionally organized
  • Enthusiastic commitment to Williams's goals around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
  • Demonstrated ability to work with products such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite and to quickly learn specialized software. Experience with a student information system is a plus.
