Description
The Department of Classics at Williams College invites applications for a visiting three-year appointment to begin July 1, 2024. The visitor will fill in for faculty members going on leave in successive years, and thus should be prepared to teach Greek and Latin language courses at all levels as well as additional courses that will support and enrich our existing curriculum in classical studies. (For recent offerings, please see the Williams course catalog https://catalog.williams.edu/clas/.) The annual course load will be either 2-2 or 3-2 and may vary over the term of the appointment. A successful candidate will exhibit a commitment to outstanding and inclusive undergraduate teaching and will address in their letter of application their capacity for working effectively with a population of students, staff, and faculty that is broadly diverse with regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. The successful applicant is expected to have the PhD in hand by September 1, 2024.
