Demonstrates ability to work independently in the development of original designs of a complex nature requiring specialized knowledge and skill Demonstrates proficiency and the ability to mentor others with PTC Creo and AutoCAD Knowledgeable in Cadra, Mentor Graphics, CHS software packages, Pro-Cable, Pro-Sheet Metal, Compare Tool and/or Checklist Demonstrates proficiency and the ability to mentor others in the use of proper drawing formatting Demonstrates proficiency with complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and the ability to mentor others in the development of this skill Demonstrates ability to take direction, work effectively in a team environment Ability to adjust with ease to changing priorities, task and assignments Position Summary Working in collaboration with an Engineer and under minimal supervision, performs design assignments of a moderately complex to complex nature. Participates in the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs requiring specialized experience. Position Objectives, Responsibilities and Duties Work independently or in collaboration with an Engineer to originate or conceptualize moderately complex designs or design elements in 2 and 3 dimensional form Completes conceptual model handed off by engineering Prepare and provide multiple design options for consideration Establish own work priorities to ensure the achievement of specified objectives Performs complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, stack-ups and profiling Participates in model reviews Perform checking function on large assemblies and complex parts to ensure the integrity, fit and function of each model and drawing May delegate work and provide direction to Draftspersons and Designers in the layout of complex drawings or models Provide support to manufacturing and vendors relative to design and functionality concerns Proficient at the application of project specific documentation standards in multiple programs Duties shall include Modeler, Checker, Model Reviewer/Checker Competencies Approachability: Listens; allows adequate time for interactions; creates a supportive communication environment Personal Accountability: Accepts responsibility for own actions, including failure.
