A full-time (40 hours per week, 10 month academic year) position in Dining Services, reporting to the Catering Events Manger is available. The schedule will be based on the catering needs of the department and will include variable day, evening and weekend hours, with overtime hours required as needed.
Responsibilities
The Catering Supervisor oversees assigned functions, including set-up, service, and break down. The Catering Supervisor directs and oversees the staff and service levels, leads pre-shift meetings, and ensures the highest standard of service for guests. The Catering Supervisor is also responsible for waitstaff and bartender training and scheduling. A strong commitment to understanding and embracing diversity as well as providing a nurturing sense of connection and belonging with both the constituents and the employee’s is essential. Other duties to be assigned as required.
Qualifications
A minimum of three years’ experience evidencing progressive responsibilities in upscale banquet/buffet catering or a fine dining service associated with high quality hotel, restaurant or conference center is required. The ability to work either independently or as part of a team, solve problems and organize details is necessary. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets is desirable. Serve Safe and/or HACCP federal guideline certification is necessary.
