The ’68 Center for Career Exploration’s mission is to prepare Williams students to explore and pursue their goals through comprehensive, individualized career education. A Temporary Internship Assistant is needed 10 hours per week on site from January-June 2023 to perform administrative tasks in order to support the ’68 Center for Career Exploration’s Signature Internship Programs.


Responsibilities

  • Respond to a wide variety of students’ questions regarding the winter study course SPEC 21 Career Exploration:  Winter Study Internships, our funded summer internship program Alumni Sponsored Internship Program (ASIP) including the application process, eligibility requirements, specific questions related to each student’s proposed internship, and questions about posted summer internships
  • Assist with reading/grading the SPEC 21 course final papers or videos from approximately 150 students in January 2023
  • Confirm submission and accuracy of required SPEC 21 and ASIP documents from students
  • Track new SPEC 21 and ASIP employer contacts on the new Customer Relationship Management Tool as a resource for our External Relations Team
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding workshops to share information regarding ASIP processes
  • Keep track of all SPEC 21 Winter Intern assignments during winter study
  • Assist with tracking ASIP employer offers and reaching out to students 
  • Review ASIP Applications, assist with assigning application packets to ‘68 Center Staff via Airtable, evaluate student applications and review evaluations of all staff with the Manager of Alumni & Parent Engagement Programs
  • Learn Human Resources System from the Student Employment Manager-Track all I-9 Forms for students awarded ASIP grants and enter ASIP payroll disbursements
  • Provide programmatic support for a new college-wide internship event Williams FUNded Summer Experience Fair - A Fair for Finding and Navigating Cross-Campus Funded Summer Opportunities.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years of experience preferred
  • Excellent editing/writing/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse clientele
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team player in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible, resourceful, and organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Appreciation for and understanding of the liberal arts experience
  • Excellent computer skills (PC and Mac), including experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Airtable  knowledge ideal, comfortable learning new program

Temporary work is subject to the needs of the College, and as such, may change at any time. Pay range is from $18 to $22 per hour, commensurate with experience. Resumes will be reviewed on an on-going basis.
