Opening Details

The college is pleased to announce an opening for an Inventory Control Coordinator, 40 hours weekly year-round. The schedule will be Monday through Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with Saturday and Sunday off. Schedules are subject to change and could vary to include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the position will work with and oversee the receiving team to safely and efficiently deliver daily bakery products, materials and equipment to Dining Service locations. responsible for receiving and storage of goods at the dining units will be a primary responsibility and include practices in the proper receipt,temperatures, dating, inspection, acceptance and storage of all food and supply items. Checking inventory par levels, reporting products out of code, overstocks and other problems to the Executive Chef will be required. This position also coordinates the maintenance of the dining fleet as well as other tasks as required to achieve full customer satisfaction. A high degree of organizational skill is necessary to manage and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment. Meeting tight deadlines, the ability to plan and act quickly to ensure customer satisfaction, and independent decision making are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Directs, supervises and assists in the receipt, inspections and storage of all food and supplies delivered to Dining Services. Reports deviations from compliance of preferred vendor to the Executive Chef.
  • Prepares daily work schedule for the truck drivers/receivers for receiving and putting away product, dish pick up, and other various duties.
  • Provides random audits at units of inventories and par stock levels. Reports all deviations and concerns in writing to the Executive Chef at completion of audit.
  • Oversees monthly inventories and restocking information for department paper goods and emergency trailer supplies.
  • Assists in training at units of all personnel involved in receiving goods from vendors.
  • Reports safety and maintenance concerns to unit managers and Executive Chef.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively with unit managers, First Cooks, Director, Associate Director, faculty, and students.
  • Ensures proper HACCP guidelines while following the MA Code as they pertain to food, inventory control and sanitation.
  • Ensures that sound environmental practices, including composting recycling and overall consumer waste reduction measures are being adhered to.
  • Responsible for overseeing maintenance of all vehicles in the dining fleet, including annual inspections.

Qualifications
  • At least three years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience as a receiver and truck driver.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel and Word are desirable.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret individual needs, multi-task, and solve problems while using good judgment to balance the sometimes-competing needs of various stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work independently, stand for prolonged periods of time, and handle heavy material involving lifting (up to 40 lbs.) and bending and complete duties as assigned.
  • Must be enthusiastic and possess strong customer service skills when working with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff
  • ServeSafe Certified and Allergen Training preferred
  • HACCP federal guideline certification and knowledge of Mass food code preferred.
  • Knowledge and ability to serve guests with the highest level of professional service is required
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
