Hoosac Valley Regional School DistrictHoosac Valley Regional School District is comprised of an elementary, middle, and highschool serving families in Adams and Cheshire, Massachusetts. HVRSD Mission: To create a partnership of our schools and communities that develops all of our students into educated, responsible and productive citizens - Paraprofessionals provide assistance to teachers and other school personnel in the delivery of quality education and support services for students in an array of classroom settings. Examples of support services and educational settings include, but are not limited to: life skills, developmental classrooms, social, emotional, & behavioral support, visual or mobility orientation, language learning delays. - Carries out all the responsibilities of an academic tutor and assists the student in the development of learning skills in a variety of academic areas as well as reinforces the student’s ability in necessary subject-specific basic skills; Observes, monitor and assess the student’s performance often and records data to track the performance; Prepares instructional activities that aid in mastering specific academic skills, including subject matter content, state mandated and end of course assessments. Assist student in setting and reaching individualized academic goals and operates as a mentor to the student in scholastic pursuits; enforces school/district policies and rules governing students as related to behavior management; Maintains confidentiality of student information as required by law and district policies; Communication required such as receiving instructions and collaborating with team members and building/school administration.

We provide education, parenting skills and support, prevention and intervention, advocacy, and life skills across a spectrum of programs serving children, young people, individuals and families in four areas: early education and care; foster care and adoption; child and family well-being; youth and community development. - $19.25 per hour - $200 hiring bonus Responsibilities: - Assist in the plans and implement the daily program of development experiences for a group of young children; includes experience in a variety of activities and materials in areas such as art, music, literature, science and mathematics, etc. - Work side by side with Parents/Guardians to promote the best understanding for growth and development of their child/children. - Encourage participation in programs, be available for Parent/Guardians conferences, and attend parent groups, meetings and any other agency sponsored events. - $24.88 per hour Responsibilities: - To help each child attain success in the classroom. - Utilize the Second Step Curriculum to facilitate group activities for children in partnership with their classroom teacher to support social/ emotional growth and competency. - Help teachers brainstorm ways to help children build on their regulation and coping skills. - Act as a liaison between caregivers, child care staff and other supportive services. - Work with Collaterals including pediatricians, school system resources, early intervention providers, etc.
