Elizabeth Freeman Center (EFC) is looking for a compassionate and committed counselor/advocate to join our Pittsfield office. This role supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including work with children and youth. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and counseling to survivors of domestic and sexual violence
  • Help survivors with safety planning, emergency needs, housing, benefits, and more
  • Offer individual and group counseling
  • Connect clients to other EFC programs and community services
  • Provide children exposed to domestic or sexual assault violence with support, advocacy, and assistance
  • Participate in outreach, education, and community events
  • Keep accurate computer records and maintain confidentiality
  • Support EFC’s mission through all work

Schedule:
40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work required for outreach and counseling activities

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $47,840/year to $52,000/year commensurate with experience. EFC pays 85% of health insurance premiums and contributes to an FSA. EFC has generous paid leave as well as other benefits.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Associate Degree (may be waived for relevant, comparable level of work or life experience)
  • Experience working with adults and children affected by trauma, domestic violence, or related issues is a plus
  • Commitment to serving diverse communities (e.g. LGBTQ+, rural, immigrants, people with disabilities)
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills are a strong plus
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Degree preferred, but relevant experience will be considered
  • Must pass background check, have a valid MA license, and access to reliable transportation
