2023-61808 - Technical Writer - XML Documentation

As a Technical Writer (Sr Tech Writing Spec) at GDMS you will be working in a team environment to create and validate XML based documentation products for sailors to operate and maintain a complex submarine-based weapon system.

The ideal candidate has experience XML based authoring standards such as S1000D and familiarity with complex US Navy strategic deterrent weapon control systems, however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Workplace Options:

This position is on-site in Pittsfield, MA...we offer flex scheduling (1-2 days per week remotely) but you will be required to report to the office multiple days per week. Relocation assistance may be available.

Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
