Housekeeping Coordinator
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the common areas of Main House, guest and visitor residences, Price Community Center and group housing at Gould Farm. This role leads housekeeping activities which includes the Farm’s therapeutic work program, supervising and coaching Guests in daily cleaning tasks, and projects that support the care of shared community living areas.
The Housekeeper works closely with staff and Guests to ensure that residences and shared spaces remain well-maintained, organized, and comfortable. This role integrates operational housekeeping work with Gould Farm’s therapeutic mission by creating meaningful work opportunities in which Guests contribute to the upkeep of common spaces.
The successful candidate must be willing to promote the values and spirit of Gould Farm, actively participate as a member of the community, and continuously seek ways to improve both personally and within the functioning of the work program.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work Program
- Supervise, coach, and support Guests participating in housekeeping work assignments.
- Create structured daily work opportunities that help Guests learn practical skills related to maintaining shared living spaces.
- Outline daily responsibilities and guide Guests in housekeeping tasks and projects.
- Support Guests in learning to care for shared living areas in ways that foster responsibility and community pride.
- Provide feedback and input to program staff regarding Guest participation, progress, and work program engagement.
- Work closely with Campus Crew staff to coordinate Guest assignments and program needs.
- Participate in staff meetings and community activities that support the integration of work and therapeutic programming.
Housekeeping and Campus Beautification
- Plan and coordinate routine housekeeping activities in Main House, guest residences, visitor housing, and other community spaces including the Price Community Center.
- Schedule, perform and oversee major cleaning projects as well as routine cleaning tasks throughout the campus.
- Clean guest rooms following discharge and prepare rooms for new Guests.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff and outside cleaning services when needed to support cleaning and turnover of guest or staff residences.
- Ensure visitor dwellings including the Retreat House, 2nd Floor Main House and Orchard House 110 are stocked with clean linens and towels prior to visits and ensure spaces are cleaned following visits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in shared spaces.
- Manage and organize the distribution and placement of furniture and furnishings donated to the Farm, prioritizing Guest residences and community spaces.
- Communicate with the larger community regarding housekeeping needs and encourage shared responsibility for maintaining common areas.
Administration and Operations
- Assist the Director of Operations with management of the housekeeping budget, including tracking and coordinating expenditures related to supplies and furnishings.
- Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, paper products, linens, and related materials.
- Coordinate laundry services and maintain organization of housekeeping supplies and storage areas.
- Ensure that housekeeping equipment, materials, and storage areas are properly maintained and organized.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff and community meetings.
- Assist with other facilities and campus operations tasks as needed.
- Participate in on-call duties after 6 months of service.
Qualifications
This position requires residency at the Farm as a condition of employment (living at Gould Farm in low cost employer provided housing). Should suitable housing not be available at the time of hire, agreement to move to the Farm as soon as suitable housing is available is a contingency of employment.
Minimum of 1-2 years of housekeeping or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience supervising or coordinating the work of others is helpful. Strong communication skills and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks are essential.

Compensation
Salary: $18 per hour depending on experience, with a great benefits package including medical/dental insurance (employer pays 85% of premiums and up to 100% of deductible), life insurance, generous Paid Time Off (PTO includes 5 weeks of vacation and holidays the first two years and 6 weeks thereafter), generous sick time accrual, 401K, low cost on campus housing including utilities, generous food benefit including prepared meals 3X a day and access to basic pantry items and Farm made products.
