  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
    • Prepares all PACS images to include pulling prior reports and comparison of films if needed. Print cd's requested by patients, physicians, other healthcare facilities and lawyers. Answers phones and performs duties to include the Call Center as it relates to the everyday happenings in a film library. Full and/or quick registration of patients for all radiology procedures. Schedule same day and advanced Radiology appointments with appropriate clinical history. Must be able to input both exam reports and pathology reports into Penrad reporting system. Runs appropriate reports and statistics as needed by department and Radiologists. This position will work directly with the Radiologist. Must be able to work at different off site areas with additional duties. Areas include specials scheduling, 610 North Radiology registration, Women's Imaging/MAC Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Transcription and Radiology call center. May include any one or several of the described areas. To provide cost effective, high quality, state-of-the-art radiology information to our clients in a timely and user-friendly manner via a phone call to the office. Responsible for the satisfactory relationship between the radiology department and its clients. Assists with questions and delegates calls to the appropriate area within radiology. Filters calls for the radiologists by direct connecting them or taking messages if the radiologists are busy at the time. Position relates to the overall function of the radiology department and the hospital in view of patient care.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • 1 year of computer experience required, full and expressed registration training, multiviewer hanging, receptionist, transcription, advanced scheduling experience highly preferred.
      • Must have excellent phone etiquette and ability to deal with the public.
      • 1 year experience in a medical office or hospital environment.
    • Education and Training:
      • High school diploma, medical termniology and college courses anatomy/physiology preferred.
      • Thorough understanding of breast pathology is preferred.
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • CPR
    • Other Requirements:
      • Excellent written and verbal communications.
      • Capable of recognizing codes as used in the Terminal Digit File System.
      • Good spelling, reading, and writing skills.
      • Must be able to use other computer programs within the individual departments.
      • Meditech, Powerscribe, PACS knowledge preferred but can be trained.
