Substance Milieu Specialist - Part Time, 16 hrs/wk, 12p-8:30p - Berkshire Health Systems - Pittsfield

The Substance Use Milieu Specialist is the designation given to individuals who provide direct care to substance abuse patients in all phases of their inpatient stay.

• Provide the patient with an initial orientation session
• Support the Substance Use Counselor with discharges
• Provides educational group activities and milieu management on their assigned shift

The Substance Use Milieu Specialist works as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, applying his/her knowledge to assist the patient/ family to increase their coping skills throughout the patients hospital stay and prepare them for discharge. The Substance Use Milieu Specialist will assist the Substance Use Counselor with insurance authorization/ discharges. The Substance Use Milieu Specialist professionally within the Customer Service Standards defined by Berkshire Medical Center.

• Experience:
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Substance Abuse Field is preferred.
• Education and Training:
  • A minimum of two years' experience working in a human service field preferred.
• License, Certification & Registration:
  • None required.
